You Cannot Escape Two Water Drops, But You Can Escape the Rain

Concept 2

The two water drops represent unavoidable forms of dukkha that arise as long as there is a body and a mind. As long as physical form and mental activity exist, some degree of discomfort, pain, or dissatisfaction cannot be avoided.

However, the rain represents a deeper and more pervasive suffering—Āriya Dukkha. This suffering arises not merely from having a body and mind, but from delusion (Avijjā). By eliminating ignorance and not allowing the continued arising of attachment to body and mind, one can escape the rain.

While the two drops may still fall, the storm ends when wisdom replaces misunderstanding. Liberation comes not from resisting existence, but from seeing it clearly. Then removing root causes of allowing the arising of Body and Mind.

So while the opportunity should last one should fight to end the rain, and care less and less about the two water drops.

Effects of Two Rain Drops stops ONLY at Parinibbana

Effects of Two Rain Drops stops only after parinibbana. Even an arahat cannot escape these two dukkas realted to Body and Mind (0:14:00 Episode 2).
